About the project
OVERVIEW
In Cyprus, civic participation and active citizenship face many challenges, such as institutional barriers or the lack of awareness of citizens of their status.
Active citizenship and civic participation are vital for building an equitable and resilient society. The EMERGE envisions putting forward a comprehensive framework to strengthen civil society and promote civic participation.
Change in society can happen through us, and active citizenship can contribute to the realisation of what we can do as citizens, the power we have and the change we can make in this world.

Koumanto stin Tzepi sou’ is an initiative of two highly experienced professionals with a longstanding experience in the international organisations, the media, communication and the financial institutions to promote financial literacy. This initiative was born out of the wish of its founders to share their experience, knowledge and insights and their firm belief in the necessity to invest in financial literacy as a mean to support and empower citizens to better understand how financial institutions and tools operate. In doing so, they wish to contribute to elevating individuals’ financial security and consequently help them mitigate the social, psychological and financial challenges that derive from economic precariousness.
